Episode 06: Avoiding a Frankenstein Life
You may not like what you create…
Comparison, bitterness, fear, regret… there is so much in our lives that is constantly trying to tells us who we should. Whether it’s the perfectly put together lives we see on Instagram, the pressure we get from a guy, or the fear the enemy whispers into our ears about not being good enough, there are plenty of opportunities we face each day to stitch something onto our lives that just shouldn’t be there.
When Dr. Frankenstein made his creation, he wasn’t trying to make a monster, but rather something beautiful, something real… life from death. But when we try and build with the death and decay in our hearts, we never truly make anything that resembles real life. Trying to piece ourselves together on our own usually leaves us with this stitched-up mess of a life, that kind of looks like us, but kind of looks like others, kind of feel right, but also feels very wrong.
In today's episode, we want to talk about those attempts we make at either fixing the broken pieces of our lives on our own, or even trying to add on pieces from others that just don’t seem to fit. Grab your coffee and bible and tune into this week’s spooky episode ☕
In this episode, we’ll chat about:
What pressures are coming at us to “fix” ourselves
How comparison is creating look-a-like versions of all of us
How to step away from these pressures and embrace your true self
Why living whole is better than living “put together”
